5 Ways to Get a Live Wallpaper for Your Mac: It’s Easier Than You Think

It might seem like a waste of your Mac’s processing power to have a Live Wallpaper (a moving desktop background). Although they may be a bit dangerous, they can also be a lot of fun!

Mac Live Wallpapers used to be difficult to find, but today they are much easier to find.

You can get animated wallpaper desktops in several different ways below, from apps that provide them to making your own.

1. Try the Built-in Dynamic Desktops

  • System Preferences > Desktop & Screensaver > Desktop
  • you’ll find a folder called Desktop Pictures under the Apple menu > Dynamic Desktop.

Apple has included a collection of Live Wallpapers with your Mac. In most cases, the image is displayed at different times of the day, but they offer the same image.

Over time, the background will slowly change from day to night versions if you click on one and set the dropdown menu to Dynamic.

When the dropdowns in Light and Dark Desktops are set to Automatic, the wallpapers also change throughout the day.

When you select the Pictures folder under Desktop heading, click the Change picture box and choose the picture you wish to change. Live wallpaper for your MacBook Pro will be a rotating collection of images in that folder.

2. Use Websites for Moving Wallpapers

Free Mac Live Wallpapers can be found on a lot of websites.

3. Use Live Wallpaper Apps

You can download whole apps to decorate your Mac desktop with animated and dynamic wallpaper. You don’t even need to open System Preferences on your Mac if you use live wallpaper apps, such as iWallpaper, which allows you to just click on the Live Wallpaper option and hit Set as wallpaper.

Earth 3D Lite, for instance, allows you to set Mac Live Wallpapers to be slow-moving animations. In addition, some applications offer practical features, such as clocks and dynamic weather forecasts, such as Live Wallpapers HD & Weather.

Furthermore, you can also make your own top-quality live wallpapers with the same ease as you do your desktop wallpaper.

Quartz animations make up many of the live wallpapers you can use on Macs. If you have a Mac, you probably have some Quartz animations on your machine already: your screensaver. Animated wallpapers can be created pretty quickly with these.

  • System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver. In the Screen Saver tab, select an animated screen saver.
  • open Terminal and put following commands :
  • /System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background
  • Now Hit Enter.

How to turn off the iPhone 14 Pro’s always-on display

We are just a few days away from the iPhone 14 release, which means millions of people around the world will purchase the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, or iPhone 14 Pro Max on Friday. Only these three handsets can be activated immediately, since the Plus variant won’t ship for a few weeks. iOS 16 introduces new Lock Screen features that work in conjunction with always-on display, a feature that is only available on iPhone 14 Pro models.

Steps to turn off the always-on display

Default settings enable the feature, as I suspected. There is no need to leave the display on all the time, since it can be turned off easily. An ever-on display consumes energy, which is one reason for doing so. As a result, disabling it will extend the battery life of your iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max.

According to Apple’s new support document, the always-on display feature can be disabled. It’s exactly where you expected to find. Select Display & Brightness from the Settings app. To disable the functionality, scroll down until you find the Always On toggle. If you like the iPhone 14 Pro always-on display, you might also be interested in a few tricks Apple never revealed. In case you think the new feature can enhance your iPhone 14 Pro experience, you can enable always-on display later. Once more apps support Live Activities, the always-on display could be re-enabled. By default, iPhone’s always-on display feature is activated, so you can take advantage of it if you want. If you choose, you can disable this feature on your iPhone. Apple Watch users don’t really need it since they already have one.

Apple has upgraded its display technology for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which supports always-on displays. This year’s Pro models will feature Apple’s new OLED panels, which can reduce refresh rate to 1Hz instead of 10Hz. The always-on display will therefore use less energy when it is on. It is for this reason, incidentally, that Apple does not offer always-on modes in the iPhone 13 Pro models.

A color wallpaper will still appear despite dimming the display. As well as showing the time and all Lock Screen widgets you have configured, the always-on display will stay on for as long as you keep it on. While the iPhone needs an always-on display, it doesn’t need it as badly as Android. During this time, there were rumors that iOS 16 would introduce the feature. The iPhone 14 launch event marked Apple’s official announcement of everything. Having an iPhone 14 Pro in my hands quickly made me want to turn it off.
